Renowned DJ Carl Cox is set to make a significant return to Ibiza this summer with a new residency at UNVRS, a cutting-edge 'hyperclub' launching on the former Privilege site, once celebrated as the world’s largest nightclub.
This announcement comes nearly a decade after Cox concluded his illustrious 15-year tenure at Space Ibiza in 2016. Since then, he has maintained a presence on the White Isle, including a residency at DC-10 in 2022 and performances at venues like Amnesia and Pacha.
Cox’s new residency will commence on June 22, 2025, featuring regular Sunday night performances until the closing event on September 21, 2025. He describes this venture as 'more than a comeback; it’s a reunion with the island that shaped so much of my journey'. He emphasizes a focus on “unfiltered, soul-stirring music” and expresses a desire for Ibiza to experience 'Sundays at UNVRS', a night he believes the island deserves.
As the first announced residency at UNVRS, Cox plans to curate events showcasing global techno and house talents, promising 'musical authenticity, boundary-pushing curation, and an unshakable commitment to the dancefloor.'
UNVRS promoted as the world’s first hyperclub” aims to blend high-end clubbing with the scale and ambition of arena events, according to owners The Night League, known for Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza. Yann Pissenem of The Night League states, 'Carl’s legacy is inseparable from Ibiza’s story, and with this new residency, we’re setting the stage for the next era. Sundays will never be the same again.'
