We've been working extremely hard this month to finalize the charting update and in the process of doing so, we realized that this functionality also needed sorting...and so that's what we did. We also implemented sorting.
This month's release is packed with functionality.
Sorting
We've implemented sorting on all relevant pages of the site and you can now sort on mixes, producers, labels, bands, albums, tracks and even news posts! When you access the various pages you will now see section on the card dedicated completely to sorting. In that section a drop down menu is presented with all the sorting options applicable to that page. When you apply a particular sort you will see the sort that is applied in the same section.
If you are on a track page, certain sorting options such as sort by bpm or sort by harmonic key will automatically cause the information section of that card to expand and reveal those attributes being sorted on.
Filters have been adjusted to take sorting into consideration. If you search for a track using a particular letter from the quick search widget, your filter result will display with a default sort order which you can then change using the drop down selection menu.
Charting
We now have charts! You will see the chart function in the main menu of the portal indicated by the icon. Charts are available but in a somewhat limited capacity as you can only see charts on views and listens.
Once we allow functions to registered users to mark favorites and rate content, either music or otherwise, then relevant charts will be opened up as well for everyone to see. For now though, you can see charts for the top 25 and top 10 depending on the item and the activity being generated on the site. The more popular an item, the higher it ranks on the charts.
We hope that this function helps you see and enjoy more content from the site as you can slice and dice many more ways!
