We've got a bunch great features lined up for you this month and some bug fixes as well.
- This is the release that gets us on our way to having charts on the site. Before you can have charts, you have to have statistics, right? So that's what we've worked on. Now we're tracking play counts on tracks and on mixes - don't worry, we're not tracking you...we just want to know what tracks and mixes are being listened to the most. The page visit counters that we implemented in a prior release are also going towards charts so we know where our visitors are navigating to the most on our site. We will be implementing views for producers, labels, bands, albums and tracks as well soon and all of that will feed into our charts system.
- Another big feature that we rolled out was 'bot' recommendations. Now when you click on the album image for a specific track, you'll see the track and other recommended tracks listed below which are compatible to the track you chose based on genre, beat and harmonic key. This is helpful for DJs who do harmonic mixing and who want to use tracks within a mix that have the same genre and closely follow a particular beat per minute and are harmonically similar.
- We've introduced image placeholders for producers and bands. We also switched those to the same look and feel as the rest of the site using cards so that we can display information about those producers and bands in a cleaner way than would otherwise be in a table format.
- We now have an events calendar! Check out the upcoming events for the month on our landing page by selecting any day with an event. You can see the event and click it to link to the relevant content on the site. We'll be using this calendar to post new music, new mixes, site upgrades, tracks of the week, collection updates and all kinds of other notable events!
- We added the producer attribute to albums. That should have been there all along but wasn't. This is now fixed and displays (where relevant) with the appropriate icon.
- Album images were at times not consistent in size across different pages of the site. These are now consistent.
- Fixed a link on the Tracks page which was taking you to a non-existent page. This now takes you to the track's detail and displays the bot recommendations for that track.
- We applied image compression on our album image library to make the album listing page load faster.
